Nityā-paṭala-prakaraṇa
The Exposition of the Nityā-paṭala
Narada (teaching in a technical/ritual instruction sequence, traditionally in dialogue with Sanatkumara lineage)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: vira
The verse reflects the Purana’s technical-ritual register (prayoga): it emphasizes time-bound discipline (seven days) and precise procedure (placing an effigy in the kuṇḍa) as the mechanism by which a desired outcome is ritually asserted.
This specific verse is procedural rather than devotional: it describes a controlling rite (vaśya) and does not directly teach Vishnu-bhakti; its focus is on ritual technique within the Third Pada’s technical scope.
It highlights prayoga-style ritual procedure and terminology—especially kuṇḍa usage and prescribed sequencing over a fixed duration—aligned with technical disciplines associated with Vedic ritual execution (kalpa-oriented practice).
