Accompagnés des parents du côté maternel, dans un état pitoyable, avec leur maître, les ministres et les citoyens, ils vinrent à Pañcavaṭī—jusqu’à son propre āśrama—et y déposèrent leur requête avec humilité.
Narrator (Purana narrator within the Narada Purana’s dialogue frame)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna (compassion)
Secondary Rasa: bhakti (devotion)
It highlights the dharmic act of approaching a righteous āśrama with humility—seeking guidance through proper submission rather than pride or force.
Indirectly, it models bhakti’s core mood—dainya (humble dependence). Approaching a sacred hermitage in distress and petitioning respectfully mirrors the devotee’s surrender when seeking refuge.
The verse reflects formal conduct and protocol—how a request is properly presented to an authority (ācārya/ṛṣi). While not a technical Vedanga rule itself, it supports the disciplined approach that underlies śāstric learning.
