Procedure for Lamp-Offering to Hanumān
Narada (in instruction mode within a Narada–Sanatkumara style dialogue)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It emphasizes disciplined upāsanā: when devotion to Hanumān is steady, and worship is performed as specifically prescribed, the promised fruit (phala) is attainable without deviation.
Bhakti here is not merely emotion but sustained attachment (āsakti) expressed through worship (bhajana) and careful propitiation (samārādhana), aligning devotion with scriptural procedure to realize the stated outcome.
The verse reflects the Vedāṅga-style principle of rite-to-result precision (yathokta-phala): correct performance and specific injunctions in worship determine the promised efficacy, a hallmark of ritual-technical instruction.
