The Description of the Worship of Rāma and Others
Rāmādi-pūjā-vidhāna
षड्दीर्घाढ्येन मंत्रेण षडंगानि समाचरेत् । सरयूतीरमंदारवेदिकापंकजासने ॥ १०५ ॥
ṣaḍdīrghāḍhyena maṃtreṇa ṣaḍaṃgāni samācaret | sarayūtīramaṃdāravedikāpaṃkajāsane || 105 ||
Sage Narada (instructional narration within Vedanga/ritual-technical context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It emphasizes disciplined mantra-practice: the mantra’s precise phonetic form and the performance of ṣaḍaṅga (six auxiliary rites) together create ritual purity, focus, and efficacy, especially when undertaken at a sanctifying tirtha like the Sarayū.
Though technical, it supports bhakti by prescribing correct, reverent worship-methods—mantra, posture/seat, and sacred setting—so devotion is expressed through careful, traditional observance rather than mere sentiment.
It highlights Śikṣā (phonetics) through the specification of “six long vowels” in the mantra, and ritual procedure (anga/nyāsa-type auxiliaries) through the instruction to perform the ṣaḍaṅga correctly.
