Graha–Ketu–Utpāta Lakṣaṇas: Solar/Lunar Omens, Comets, Eclipses, and Calendar Rules
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: none
It teaches discernment in Dharma: even good acts (vratas, rites) should be aligned with proper tithi, because time (kāla) conditions the fruit—leading to desired, middling, or unfavorable outcomes.
Bhakti is supported by disciplined observance; the verse implies that a devotee should honor scriptural timing (tithi-niyama) so that devotional vows are performed with maximum auspiciousness and minimal obstacles.
It reflects Jyotiṣa/Vedāṅga practice via pañcāṅga-based tithi selection—classifying specific tithis in kṛṣṇa-pakṣa as giving mixed or undesirable results for planning vratas and rituals.
