«Demande tout ce que tu veux demander ; je te le dirai.» Alors, ô sage, il raconta exactement comme cela s’était passé l’épisode de la mise à mort de la vache sacrificielle, Homadhenu.
Narrator (Purana dialogue frame; speaker within the scene is the one responding: “I will tell you…”)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It establishes the dharmic method of transmission—humble inquiry and truthful narration—before a morally weighty episode (the killing of a sacrificial cow) is explained for ethical and spiritual reflection.
Indirectly: by foregrounding sincere questioning and honest teaching, it supports the devotional discipline of śravaṇa (hearing) and satsanga, which are foundational for bhakti-based learning in Purāṇic tradition.
Ritual context is implied through “homa” and “homadhenu,” pointing to śrauta/smārta ritual awareness (kalpa-oriented practice) and the seriousness of actions connected to yajña materials and sacrificial procedures.
