Anukramaṇī (Synoptic Table of Contents) of the Śrī Bṛhannāradīya Purāṇa
Suta (narrating the phala-śruti within the Anukramanika-style summary)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It states a phala-śruti: devoted listening (śravaṇa) or arranging recitation (śrāvaṇa/pāṭha) of the sacred narration leads to the supreme goal—attaining Brahman’s abode—presented as a definitive assurance.
Bhakti is shown as practical and accessible: one need not perform complex austerities here; sincere devotion expressed through attentive hearing or facilitating recitation is upheld as spiritually transformative and moksha-oriented.
The verse emphasizes disciplined recitation and attentive hearing—skills supported by Śikṣā (proper phonetics) and Vyākaraṇa (correct linguistic form) to preserve accurate transmission of the text during pāṭha and śravaṇa.
