Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
This verse functions as an Anukramanika (table-of-contents) marker, highlighting that the Purana will teach Dharma through the mahatmyas of major tirthas—Prayaga, Kurukshetra, and Haridvara—where pilgrimage, sacred bathing, and remembrance of Hari are presented as purifying means.
By foregrounding tirtha-mahatmya narratives, the verse points to Bhakti practiced through pilgrimage: visiting holy places, performing snana and worship, and hearing sacred kathas—activities that traditionally intensify Vishnu-smriti (remembrance of Vishnu) and devotion.
The verse is not a Vedanga instruction; it is an index-like listing. Practically, it signals ritual-application knowledge connected to tirtha-yatra—timing, vows, and bathing/worship procedures commonly detailed in mahatmya sections rather than in technical Vedanga chapters.
