The Exposition of the Dvādaśī Vow for the Twelve Months
Dvādaśī-vrata-nirṇaya and Mahā-dvādaśī Lakṣaṇas
भगवंस्त्वत्प्रसादेन तदखंडमिहास्तु मे । ततः संभोज्य विप्राग्र्यान्सखंडाढ्यैस्तु पायसैः ॥ ६५ ॥
bhagavaṃstvatprasādena tadakhaṃḍamihāstu me | tataḥ saṃbhojya viprāgryānsakhaṃḍāḍhyaistu pāyasaiḥ || 65 ||
Ô Bhagavān, par ta grâce, que ce fruit demeure ici pour moi sans diminution. Ensuite, après avoir nourri les plus éminents brāhmaṇas, qu’on le fasse avec du pāyasa (riz au lait) richement mêlé de sucre.

The verse highlights a key Purāṇic principle: spiritual results are ultimately secured by divine grace (prasāda), and they are ritually “sealed” through honoring the foremost Brāhmaṇas with respectful feeding (bhojana), thereby stabilizing merit (puṇya) as akhaṇḍa—undiminished.
Bhakti is implied through dependence on the Lord’s prasāda—“by your grace.” Rather than claiming merit as purely self-made, the speaker asks that the fruit remain intact through divine favor, expressing humility and surrender that are central to Vishnu-bhakti in Purāṇic teaching.
It reflects Kalpa/Śrauta–Smārta practical ritual discipline: completion of a rite with brāhmaṇa-bhojana and specific naivedya-style food (pāyasa, here enriched with sugar). This is applied dharma-vidhi rather than grammar or astrology.
