Daśamī-vrata: Observances for the Bright Tenth Day Through the Twelve Months
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: Sārvabhauma-vrata
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It elevates Kartika-śukla Daśamī as a powerful dharmic time for vrata-practice, stating that disciplined observance yields merit now and a favorable post-death destination (svarga-gati).
By prescribing a specific vrata in Kārtika (a month strongly associated with Viṣṇu-bhakti in Purāṇic practice), it frames devotion as embodied worship through time-bound vows that transform one’s destiny.
Kalā/ritual timing rooted in Jyotiṣa: the observance is fixed to Daśamī tithi in Kārtika during Śukla-pakṣa, showing how lunar calendrics guide Purāṇic vrata-vidhi.
