Daśamī-vrata: Observances for the Bright Tenth Day Through the Twelve Months
Narada (instructional narration within the Purva Bhaga dialogue tradition)
Vrata: Daśāvatāra-vrata (discipline component)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches disciplined living during a vrata: self-restraint (upavāsa/ekabhakta) must be paired with dharma—honouring others with food first—so the act becomes purified by generosity and mental composure.
Bhakti is expressed through sattvic conduct: humility, service, and hospitality. Feeding others first and eating with a collected mind aligns daily action with worshipful intention.
Ritual practice (kalpa-style discipline) is implied: rules of vrata and āhāra-niyama—fasting, one-meal observance, and sequence of hospitality—showing applied dharma rather than grammar or astrology.
