The exposition of the Pañcamī vow to be observed in the twelve months
Narada (teaching in dialogue with the Sanatkumara tradition)
Vrata: Pañcamī-vrata with Nāga-pūjā (Nāga-Pañcamī type observance within the twelve-month Pañcamī scheme)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It presents a specific vrata-style observance: worship of the Nāgas on Mārgaśīrṣa Śukla Pañcamī, emphasizing that correct ritual performance yields “abhaya” (freedom from fear/danger) and well-being shared with one’s family.
Bhakti here is expressed as reverential worship performed “vidhānataḥ” (as prescribed), showing that devotion in the Purāṇic framework often operates through disciplined, deity-centered rites that generate protection and harmony in worldly life.
It uses calendrical/ritual precision—tithi (pañcamī) and lunar fortnight/month (Mārgaśīrṣa śukla)—reflecting practical jyotiṣa-style timing and kalpa/ritual procedure implied by “vidhānataḥ.”
