चैत्यप्रासाद-विध्वंसः (Destruction of the Chaitya Palace and Hanuman’s Proclamation)
तस्यास्फोटितशब्देन महता श्रोत्रघातिना।पेतुर्विहङ्गमास्तत्र चैत्यपालाश्च मोहिताः।।।।
tasyāsphoṭitaśabdena mahatā śrotraghātinā |
petur vihaṅgamās tatra caityapālāś ca mohitāḥ ||
By that great, ear-smiting crack of his arm-slapping, birds there dropped down, and even the shrine-guards were stunned into confusion.
By the deafening sound caused by the patting, the birds fell down and the guards of the palace lost consciousness.
The verse underscores the consequence of confronting righteous, divinely-aided resolve: adharma’s protectors lose steadiness when faced with dharmic power.
Hanumān’s thunderous display shocks the environment—birds collapse and the guards of the sacred complex are rendered senseless.
