Shloka 5.43.18
चैत्यप्रासाद-विध्वंसः (Destruction of the Chaitya Palace and Hanuman’s Proclamation)
तत्र चाग्निस्समभवत्प्रासादश्चाप्यदह्यत।।।।दह्यमानं ततो दृष्ट्वा प्रासादं हरियूथपः।स राक्षसशतं हत्त्वा वज्रेणेन्द्र इवासुरान्।।।।अन्तरिक्षे स्थितश्श्तीमानिदं वचनमब्रवीत्।
tatra cāgnis samabhavat prāsādaś cāpy adahyata.
dahyamānaṃ tato dṛṣṭvā prāsādaṃ hariyūthapaḥ |
sa rākṣasaśataṃ hatvā vajreṇendra ivāsurān ||
antariḳṣe sthitaḥ śrīmān idaṃ vacanam abravīt ||
Then fire flared up there, and the palace too was set ablaze. Seeing the palace burning, the leader of the monkey-host, having slain a hundred rākṣasas like Indra striking down asuras with his thunderbolt, stood poised in the sky and spoke these words.
Thereafter fire was generated (through friction) and with if the palace blazed. Hanuman saw the palace burning. He killed a hundred demons there as Indra killed demons with his thunderbolt. (The whirling pillar that generated fire apeared like a thunderbolt) Later he stood in the air and proclaimed this:
Hanumān’s force is directed toward rākṣasas obstructing Rāma’s righteous mission; his violence is framed as duty-bound protection of dharma rather than personal vengeance.
The narrative leads to Hanumān’s public proclamation from the sky; his forthcoming words are presented as authoritative and truthful, aligned with Rāma’s cause and the moral order.
