अभिज्ञानमणि-प्रदानम् — The Signet Jewel as Proof and the Consolation of Sita
कुशलं हनुमन्ब्रूयाः सहितौ रामलक्ष्मणौ।।5.39.7।।सुग्रीवं च सहामात्यं वृद्धान् सर्वांश्च वानरान्।ब्रूयास्त्वं वानरश्रेष्ठ कुशलं धर्मसंहितम्।।5.39.8।।
sugrīvaṃ ca sahāmātyaṃ vṛddhān sarvāṃś ca vānarān |
brūyās tvaṃ vānarāśreṣṭha kuśalaṃ dharmasaṃhitam ||5.39.8||
And convey well-being also to Sugrīva together with his ministers, and to all the elder Vānaras. O best of Vānaras, you should deliver these greetings in a manner consistent with dharma.
"O Hanuman the great communicate my welfare to both Rama and Lakshmana, to Sugriva, his ministers, elderly vanaras in righteous order.
The verse teaches that even urgent messages should be delivered with propriety—speech and conduct must remain dharma-aligned (dharmasaṃhitam), honoring elders and leaders respectfully.
In Laṅkā, Sītā entrusts Hanumān with a return message to the Rāma-side allies, asking him to convey welfare and greetings to Sugrīva, his ministers, and the elder Vānaras.
Sītā’s steadiness in dharma: despite captivity and distress, she maintains ethical order—gratitude, respect for hierarchy/elders, and disciplined communication.
