अभिज्ञानमणि-प्रदानम् — The Signet Jewel as Proof and the Consolation of Sita
कुशलं हनुमन्ब्रूयाः सहितौ रामलक्ष्मणौ।।।।सुग्रीवं च सहामात्यं वृद्धान् सर्वांश्च वानरान्।ब्रूयास्त्वं वानरश्रेष्ठ कुशलं धर्मसंहितम्।।।।
kuśalaṁ hanuman brūyāḥ sahitau rāma-lakṣmaṇau | sugrīvaṁ ca sahāmātyaṁ vṛddhān sarvāṁś ca vānarān | brūyās tvaṁ vānaraśreṣṭha kuśalaṁ dharma-saṁhitam ||
O Hanumān, convey my welfare to Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa together; and to Sugrīva with his ministers, and to all the elder vānara leaders. O best of vānara-s, convey it in a manner consistent with dharma.
"O Hanuman the great! communicate my welfare to both Rama and Lakshmana, to Sugriva, his ministers, elderly vanaras in righteous order.
Dharma is righteous speech and proper conduct in messaging: Sītā asks that her welfare be conveyed respectfully, truthfully, and with due regard to elders and leaders.
As Hanumān prepares to return, Sītā instructs him to convey her well-being to Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa, Sugrīva, and the senior vānara-s.
Sītā’s propriety (maryādā) and clarity of mind—maintaining dharmic etiquette even in distress.
