अभिज्ञानप्रदानम् — The Token of Recognition (Chūḍāmaṇi) and the Crow Episode Recalled
परिश्रमात्प्रसुप्ता च राघवाङ्केऽप्यहं चिरम्।पर्यायेण प्रसुप्तश्च ममाङ्के भरताग्रजः।।5.38.21।।
yuktarūpaṃ tvayā devi bhāṣitaṃ śubhadarśane |
sadṛśaṃ strīsvabhāvasya sādhvīnāṃ vinayasya ca || 5.38.2 ||
O queen of auspicious appearance, what you have spoken is fitting, in harmony with a woman’s nature and with the modesty of virtuous women.
'Totally exhausted I slept on your lap for a long time, and in turn you slept on my lap later.
Dharma is affirmed as vinaya (modest, disciplined speech and conduct) and satya—Hanumān validates Sītā’s righteous, appropriate expression.
Hanumān, having met Sītā in Aśoka-vana, responds respectfully to her words and frames them as dharmically appropriate.
Sītā’s modesty and moral steadiness; Hanumān’s reverence and discernment in recognizing virtue.
