रामलक्षणवर्णनम् (Description of Rama and Lakshmana; Alliance Narrative to Sita)
ततस्स सान्त्वयामास सुग्रीवं लक्ष्मणाग्रजः।स्त्रीहेतोर्वालिना भ्रात्रा निरस्तमुरुतेजसा।।।।
tatassa sāntvayāmāsa sugrīvaṃ lakṣmaṇāgrajaḥ | strīhetor vālinā bhrātrā nirastam urutejasā ||
Then Rāma, the elder brother of Lakṣmaṇa, consoled Sugrīva—who had been driven out by his own brother Vāli, a mighty one, because of a dispute over a woman.
"Then Rama, consoled Sugriva who was dethroned and abandoned on acount of a woman by his brother Vali, endowed with great prowess.
Dharma here is compassion and responsible leadership: Rāma steadies an ally who has suffered injustice and exile, guiding him away from despair toward righteous action.
Hanumān recalls the early alliance: Sugrīva had been expelled by Vāli due to a dispute connected with a woman; Rāma offers him reassurance and support.
Rāma’s karuṇā (compassion) and steadiness in restoring confidence to those who are wronged.
