त्रिजटास्वप्नवर्णनम् (Trijata’s Dream-Omens and the Rakshasis’ Reversal)
निमित्तभूतमेतत्तु श्रोतुमस्या महत्प्रियम्।।5.27.48।।दृश्यते च स्फुरच्चक्षुः पद्मपत्रमिवायतम्।
nimittabhūtam etat tu śrotum asyā mahat priyam | dṛśyate ca sphurac-cakṣuḥ padmapatram ivāyatam ||5.27.48||
This has indeed become an omen that she will hear great glad tidings; and her eye—long like a lotus petal—is seen to throb.
"This dream indeed served as an augery for good news about her. Look, her (left) eye which is large like a lotus petal is throbbing.
Confidence in satya: auspicious signs are read as confirming that truthful, righteous causes receive support and move toward favorable resolution.
The rākṣasīs interpret physical omens (a throbbing eye) as indicating that Sītā will soon receive good news.
Sītā’s auspiciousness and steadfast dharma, suggested through traditional lakṣaṇa/omen language.
