On the women’s ears he saw earrings set with diamonds and vaiḍūrya gems, and also gleaming golden ornaments—earrings and armlets.
He noticed on the earlobes of the the women gold ear-rings decked with diamonds and vaidurya. They were wearing shining armlets of gold.
The Ramayana repeatedly teaches that wealth and ornamentation are secondary to satya and dharma; the detailed luxury here heightens the contrast with Sītā’s principled suffering elsewhere.
Hanumān continues his visual assessment of the palace women, noting their jewelry as part of identifying who is not Sītā.
Methodical observation—Hanumān uses concrete details to eliminate possibilities and stay aligned with truth.
