मैत्रीप्रतिज्ञा-वैरकारणप्रश्नः (Friendship Vow and Inquiry into the Cause of Enmity)
सर्वथाऽहमनुग्राह्यो देवतानां न संशयः।उपपन्न गुणोपेतस्सखा यस्य भवान्मम।।
sarvathā ’ham anugrāhyo devatānāṃ na saṃśayaḥ | upapanna-guṇopetaḥ sakhā yasya bhavān mama ||
In every way I have become worthy of the gods’ favor—there is no doubt—since you, endowed with fitting virtues, have become my friend.
'Since one like you endowed with all virtues has become my friend I am (now) worthy of grace of the gods in all respects. There is no doubt.
Satsaṅga and righteous friendship: aligning with a virtuous person elevates one’s moral standing and invites благessing; Dharma is strengthened through noble companionship.
Sugrīva affirms the auspiciousness of his friendship with Rāma, expressing confidence that such an alliance brings divine favor.
Recognition of virtue (guṇa-jñāna) and gratitude: Sugrīva honors Rāma’s qualities and values dharmic friendship.
