Receiving that food, Maithilī (Sītā) understood, “This has been given by Indra.” Taking out a generous portion, she would place it upon the ground as an offering for Rāma, wherever he might be upon the earth.

'Having understood that it has been provided by Indra, Sita will take out a large portion of it and pour it on the ground (as an offering to Rama) and say 'I offer it to Rama wherever he is on earth'.

Even in distress, Sītā maintains reverence, purity of intention, and devotion—transforming received food into an offering for Rāma. Dharma here is steadfastness in righteous conduct despite suffering.

Sampāti recounts signs about Sītā in Laṅkā, including her actions with food believed to be divinely provided, indicating her continued remembrance of Rāma.

Sītā’s unwavering fidelity and devotional resolve (ananyabhakti), expressed through offering and constant orientation toward Rāma.
