सम्पातिवाक्यम् (Sampāti’s Counsel and the Revelation of Laṅkā)
निर्दग्धपक्षः पतितो विन्ध्येऽहं वानरर्षभाः।अहमस्मिन्वसन्भ्रातुः प्रवृत्तिं नोपलक्षये।।4.58.7।।
nirdagdhapakṣaḥ patito vindhye 'haṃ vānararṣabhāḥ | aham asmin vasan bhrātuḥ pravṛttiṃ nopalakṣaye || 4.58.7 ||
O bulls among monkeys, my wings were burnt, and I fell upon the Vindhya. Living here, I have not come to know any news of my brother’s whereabouts.
'O bulls among monkeys, consequently my wings were burnt and I dropped down on Vindhya. Here I have been living, knowing not my brother's whereabouts.'
Truthful self-disclosure: Sampāti speaks plainly about his condition and ignorance, showing satya (truthfulness) as a foundation for right action.
Sampāti explains to the vānara search-party how he became wingless, fell on the Vindhya, and has since been unable to learn news of his brother Jatāyu.
Honesty joined with endurance—he does not exaggerate or conceal, and he bears long hardship while remaining coherent and accountable in speech.
