एकोनपञ्चाशः सर्गः (Sarga 49) — Aṅgada Re-energizes the Southern Search Party
हितार्थमेतदुक्तं वः क्रियतां यदि रोचते।उच्यतां वा क्षमं यन्नस्सर्वेषामेव वानराः।।।।
hitārtham etad uktaṃ vaḥ kriyatāṃ yadi rocate |
ucyatāṃ vā kṣamaṃ yan nas sarveṣām eva vānarāḥ ||
“I have spoken this for your welfare. Do it if it pleases you; otherwise, tell what you deem right for all of us, O Vānaras.”
'I have said all this for your good. You may carry it out, if it pleases you. Speak freely if there is any other course left for all of us, O monkeys!'
Dharma is welfare-oriented counsel with openness to truth: Angada offers guidance for the common good and invites honest alternatives.
Angada proposes a course of action to the exhausted search party and asks them to accept it or suggest a better, proper plan.
Humility and responsibility—leading while still respecting collective wisdom and truthful feedback.
