Shloka 4.43.54

सुग्रीवस्य शतवलि-प्रेषणम् (Sugriva’s Commission to Satavali for the Northern Search)

तत्र नामुदितः कश्चिन्नास्ति कश्चिदसत्प्रियः।अहन्यहनि वर्धन्ते गुणास्तत्र मनोरमाः।।।।

tatra nāmuditaḥ kaścin nāsti kaścid asatpriyaḥ |

ahanyahani vardhante guṇās tatra manoramāḥ ||

There no one is unhappy, and no one is fond of what is wrong; day after day, delightful virtues continue to increase among the people there.

'There nobody is unhappy or inclined towards evil deeds and virtues in people go increasing day by day.

A dharmic community is marked by truth-alignment (sat) and the steady growth of virtues; happiness is presented as the natural fruit of ethical inclination.

Sugrīva describes the ethical atmosphere of a northern blessed region while directing the search expedition.

Love of the good (satpriyatā) and continual self-improvement—virtues that grow “day by day.”
