सुग्रीवस्य शतवलि-प्रेषणम् (Sugriva’s Commission to Satavali for the Northern Search)
गीतवादित्रनिर्घोष स्सोत्कृष्टहसितस्वनः।श्रूयते सततं तत्र सर्वभूतमनोहरः।।।।
gītavāditranirghoṣaḥ sotkṛṣṭahasitasvanaḥ |
śrūyate satataṃ tatra sarvabhūtamanoharaḥ ||
There, constantly, one hears the resonant sounds of song and instruments, and the fine peals of laughter—delighting the minds of all beings.
'Pleasing sounds of heavenly music-vocal and instrumental- and laughter of celestial beings are ever heard in that region.
Dharma includes mastery over the senses; even universally pleasing experiences should not derail one from truthful commitment to a righteous task.
