सुग्रीवस्य शतवलि-प्रेषणम् (Sugriva’s Commission to Satavali for the Northern Search)
तत्सरस्समतिक्रम्य नष्टचन्द्रदिवाकरम्।अनक्षत्रगणं व्योम निष्पयोदमनादितम्।।।।
aupavāhyaḥ kuberasya sārvabhauma iti smṛtaḥ |
gajaḥ paryeti taṃ deśaṃ sadā saha kareṇubhiḥ ||
Kubera’s royal mount—an elephant famed as Sārvabhauma—ever roams that region together with female elephants.
'If you cross that region, you will find no Sun, no Moon, no stars, no cloud, no sound.
Dharma includes right orientation in a vast world: knowing sacred/divine associations helps a mission remain ordered and purposeful rather than chaotic.
Sugrīva marks the northern terrain with a divine-associated sign: Kubera’s famed elephant is said to roam there.
Competent stewardship—providing reliable markers so the search remains effective and united in aim.
