सुग्रीवस्य शतवलि-प्रेषणम् (Sugriva’s Commission to Satavali for the Northern Search)

अवृक्षं कामशैलं च मानसं विहगालयम्।न गतिस्तत्र भूतानां देवदानव रक्षसाम्।।।।

Transliteration

avṛkṣaṃ kāma-śailaṃ ca mānasaṃ vihagālayam |

na gatis tatra bhūtānāṃ deva-dānava-rakṣasām ||

Translation

There lie the treeless Kāma-śaila and Mānasā, a sanctuary of birds; no beings can pass there—not even devas, Dānavas, or Rākṣasas.

Context

'There is a mountain region known as Kama, and Manasa where there are no trees. It is a bird sanctuary. Not only living beings, even gods, demons and rakshas have no access to that place.
