सिद्धाश्रम-प्रसङ्गः (Siddhashrama and the Vāmana Narrative)
पुत्रत्वं गच्छ भगवन्नदित्या मम चानघ।।1.29.16।।भ्राता भव यवीयांस्त्वं शक्रस्यासुरसूदन ।शोकार्तानां तु देवानां साहाय्यं कर्तुमर्हसि।।1.29.17।।
putratvaṃ gaccha bhagavann adityā mama cānagha || 1.29.16 ||
bhrātā bhava yavīyāṃs tvaṃ śakrasyāsurasūdana |
śokārtānāṃ tu devānāṃ sāhāyyaṃ kartum arhasi || 1.29.17 ||
O Blessed Lord, O stainless One—become a son to Aditi and to me. O slayer of the Asuras, become the younger brother of Śakra (Indra); you are worthy to aid the gods who are afflicted with sorrow.
"O Sinless Lord, Be born son to Aditi and to me, O Destroyer of asuras, be the younger brother to Indra. You can help these sorrowstricken devatas.
Dharma demands protection of the afflicted righteous: the divine is invoked to restore balance when adharma overwhelms the devas.
Kāśyapa specifies the boon: Viṣṇu should incarnate as Aditi’s son (Vāmana) and assist Indra and the sorrowing gods against the Asuras.
Compassionate guardianship: the commitment to relieve suffering and re-establish rightful order.
