दृष्टवा ध्वजं पातितमाशुकारिणा कुरुप्रवीरेण निकृत्तमाहवे । नाशंसिरे सूतपुत्रस्य सर्वे जयं तदा भारत ये त्वदीया:,भारत! शीघ्रकारी कौरव वीर अर्जुनके द्वारा युद्धस्थलमें उस ध्वजको काटकर गिराया हुआ देख उस समय आपके सभी सैनिकोंने सूतपुत्रकी विजयकी आशा त्याग दी
Translation
O Bharata! Seeing that the banner had been swiftly cut down in battle by Arjuna, the quick-acting hero of the Kurus, all your soldiers then abandoned hope of victory for the charioteer’s son (Karna).
