brāhmaṇyaṃ kṣatraṃ ca yajñāś ca dakṣiṇāś cārjunaṃ śritāḥ | devāḥ pitaro yamaḥ kuberaś ca varuṇaś cārjunasya pakṣe 'bhavan gaṇaiḥ sevakaiś ca saha ||

Sañjaya said: The sanctity of Brahminical virtue, the power of kingship, the sacrifices (yajña), and the sacred gifts (dakṣiṇā)—all stood aligned with Arjuna. Even the gods, the Pitṛs (ancestral spirits), and the guardians of cosmic order—Yama, Kubera, and Varuṇa—together with their hosts and attendants, were on Arjuna’s side. Brahmins, Kṣatriyas, sacrifice, and dakṣiṇā likewise supported him. The tale declares that victory is not merely of arms, but of dharma-backed alignment: righteousness, rightful authority, and rightly offered sacrifice lend their force to the just cause.
