Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of readiness and resolve in battle: a warrior is portrayed as standing firm and radiant, emphasizing courage, discipline, and the public visibility of one’s duty (svadharma) in a time of crisis.

Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Purumitra, described as a leading Kuru hero, has mounted his chariot and taken his position for combat, shining like the sun in a clear sky—an image underscoring his martial presence on the battlefield.
