sañjaya uvāca — dhig dhig ity eva govindaḥ pārtham uktvābravīt punaḥ
Sañjaya said: O King, hearing this, Govinda (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) rebuked Arjuna—crying, “Shame! Shame!”—and then spoke to him again.

The verse highlights righteous rebuke as a form of guidance: Kṛṣṇa’s sharp ‘dhig dhig’ is not mere insult but a moral jolt, intended to correct Arjuna’s lapse in courage and re-anchor him in dharma and disciplined action amid crisis.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Kṛṣṇa, after hearing Arjuna’s words, condemns them with ‘Shame!’ and then continues speaking—signaling a renewed, forceful counsel to steer Arjuna’s conduct in the ongoing battle.
