अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च
Arjuna’s Rapid Advance and the Bhīma–Śakuni Encounter
sañjaya uvāca | vartamāne tathā raudre saṅgrāme ’dbhuta-darśane | tadānyato vijayī vīraḥ śreṣṭho ’rjunaḥ senā-madhyabhāge bahūn saṃsaptakān saṃhatya bhagavantaṃ śrīkṛṣṇaṃ pratyuvāca ||
Sañjaya said: While that dreadful battle—terrible in its fury and wondrous to behold—was still raging, the victorious hero Arjuna, foremost among warriors, having slain many of the Saṃsaptakas in the very midst of the army, addressed the Blessed Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
संजय उवाच
Even in a battle filled with astonishing feats, action remains ethically charged: the warrior’s duty unfolds amid fearsome violence, and the wise seek right direction by turning to a higher counsel—here, Arjuna to Kṛṣṇa—so that power is guided by discernment rather than mere fury.
Sañjaya reports that the fierce battle is ongoing. Arjuna, victorious in the thick of the army, kills many Saṃsaptaka warriors and then speaks to Śrī Kṛṣṇa, indicating a transition from combat action to strategic or moral consultation.
