अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च
Arjuna’s Rapid Advance and the Bhīma–Śakuni Encounter
गुरुपुत्र इति होनं मानयन् भरतर्षभ । उपेक्षां कुरु मा पार्थ नायं काल उपेक्षितुम्,“भरतश्रेष्ठ! कुन्तीनन्दन! यह मेरे गुरुका पुत्र है, ऐसा मानकर तुम इसके प्रति उपेक्षाभाव न करो। यह समय उपेक्षा करनेका नहीं है”
guruputra iti honam mānayan bharatarṣabha | upekṣāṃ kuru mā pārtha nāyaṃ kāla upekṣitum ||
Sañjaya said: “O bull among the Bharatas, O Partha—do not treat him with indifference merely thinking, ‘He is the son of my teacher.’ This is not a time for overlooking or sparing; the moment demands full resolve.”
संजय उवाच
Personal reverence and old loyalties (such as respect for one’s teacher’s family) must not become misplaced indulgence when dharma requires decisive action; in a crisis, one should not ‘overlook’ what must be confronted.
Sanjaya, narrating the battle, urges Arjuna not to hold back out of regard for someone as ‘the guru’s son.’ He stresses that the present battlefield moment is critical and does not permit hesitation or leniency.
