कर्णनिधनश्रवणम् — Hearing of Karṇa’s Fall and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament
यथा स्कन्देन महिषो यथा रुद्रेण चान्धक: । तथार्जुनेन स हतो द्वैरथे युद्धदुर्मद:
yathā skandena mahiṣo yathā rudreṇa cāndhakaḥ | tathārjunena sa hato dvairathe yuddha-durmadaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: “Just as the buffalo-demon was slain by Skanda, and as Andhaka was slain by Rudra, so too was that warrior—maddened by the arrogance of battle—cut down by Arjuna in the duel of chariots. The comparison underscores that pride and unrighteous fury in war meet an inevitable, divinely patterned end when confronted by superior valor aligned with rightful purpose.”
