कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
एतच्छुत्वा तु वचन प्रतिगृह्य च सर्वश:,उनकी यह बात सुनकर उसे सब प्रकारसे शिरोधार्य करके परशुराम स्वस्तिवाचन आदि मंगलकृत्य करनेके पश्चात् दानवोंका सामना करनेके लिये गये और महान् दर्प एवं बलसे सम्पन्न उन देवशत्रुओंसे इस प्रकार बोले--
etac chrutvā tu vacanaṃ pratigṛhya ca sarvaśaḥ | tatraiva śirodhārya paraśurāmaḥ svastivācana-ādi maṅgalakṛtyaṃ kṛtvā dānavānāṃ samāgamaṃ prati jagāma | mahān darpa-bala-sampannān devāriṇas tān evaṃ provāca ||
Having heard those words and accepted them in every respect, Paraśurāma took them to heart. After performing auspicious rites—benedictory recitations and other acts of good omen—he set out to confront the Dānavas. Then, facing those enemies of the gods, proud and mighty, he spoke to them in this manner—
