Tirtha: Mahākāleśvara-liṅga at Prabhāsa
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Dawn at Prabhāsa: pale light entering the sanctum; devotee offering water, bilva, and lamp to the liṅga; a subtle halo shaped like a protective circle, suggesting ‘mṛtyu-jaya’ through ṣaḍakṣara.
Devotional worship joined with mantra is portrayed as a direct means to transcend fear of death and attain divine protection.
Mahākāleśvara liṅga in Prabhāsa-kṣetra.
Perform dawn worship (kalye pūjā) of the liṅga with devotion and recite the six-syllabled mantra (ṣaḍakṣara).
