Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 38

ऋग्वेदस्थस्तु पूर्वाह्णे मध्याह्ने यजुषि स्थितः । अपराह्णे तु सामस्थो ह्यथर्वस्थो निशागमे

ṛgvedasthastu pūrvāhṇe madhyāhne yajuṣi sthitaḥ | aparāhṇe tu sāmastho hyatharvastho niśāgame

Am Morgen weilt Er als Ṛgveda; zur Mittagszeit ist Er im Yajus gegründet; am Nachmittag steht Er als Sāma; und beim Einbruch der Nacht ist Er als Atharva gegenwärtig.
