Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 2

तत्र कन्देश्वरो देवो यत्र बद्धा जटा मया । तत्र स्नात्वा नरः सम्यक्त्ं देवं यः प्रपूजयेत् । स मुक्तः पातकैर्घोरैः प्राप्नुयाच्छासनं शुभम्

tatra kandeśvaro devo yatra baddhā jaṭā mayā | tatra snātvā naraḥ samyaktṃ devaṃ yaḥ prapūjayet | sa muktaḥ pātakairghoraiḥ prāpnuyācchāsanaṃ śubham

Dort ist die Gottheit Kandeśvara, wo Ich meine Jaṭā‑Locken zusammenband. Wer dort ordnungsgemäß badet und diesen Deva in Ehrfurcht verehrt, wird von schrecklichen Sünden befreit und erlangt das glückverheißende śāsana — göttliche Weisung und Gnade.
