Listener: ṛṣayaḥ (sages) speaking to the narrator
Scene: Forest hermitage assembly: sages respectfully address the narrator, acknowledging what has been told (creation, re-creation, dynasties, Purāṇa sequence) and preparing to ask for the next topic.
Right inquiry (praśna) follows right listening: after cosmology and lineage, seekers turn toward tīrthas—Dharma embodied in place.
