ब्राह्मण उवाच । यदि देवाः प्रसन्ना मे कूपान्निष्कमणे त्वहम् । यष्टा स्वं मंदिरं गत्वा देवयज्ञं करोम्यहम्

Transliteration

brāhmaṇa uvāca | yadi devāḥ prasannā me kūpānniṣkamaṇe tvaham | yaṣṭā svaṃ maṃdiraṃ gatvā devayajñaṃ karomyaham

Translation

Der Brāhmaṇa sprach: „Wenn die Götter mir gewogen sind, so möge ich aus diesem Brunnen herausgelangen. In mein eigenes Haus zurückgekehrt, werde ich nach rechter Vorschrift das Deva‑Yajña, das Opfer für die Götter, vollziehen.“
