Transliteration

mahāvratamupāsthāya nighnaputreṇa dhīmatā | tasya tuṣṭastadā bhānuḥ syamantakamaṇiṃ dadau

Translation

Nachdem er das große Gelübde (mahāvrata) auf sich genommen hatte, vollzog der weise Sohn Nighnas die Observanz; da schenkte ihm Bhānu (die Sonne), von ihm erfreut, das Juwel Syamantaka.
