ब्रह्महत्यासमं पापं न भूतं न भविष्यति । वरं कुर्वन्ध्रुवं देवि न कुर्याद्वेदविक्रयम्

Transliteration

brahmahatyāsamaṃ pāpaṃ na bhūtaṃ na bhaviṣyati | varaṃ kurvandhruvaṃ devi na kuryādvedavikrayam

Translation

Es hat keinen und wird keinen Frevel geben, der der brahma-hatyā — der Tötung eines Brāhmaṇa — gleichkäme. Darum, o Göttin, selbst im Streben nach eigenem Vorteil soll man gewiss nicht die Veda verkaufen.
