उपहूतोपहूतेन आगतेषु द्विजन्मसु । क्रियमाणे तथा भक्ष्ये दृष्ट्वा देवी क्रुधान्विता । उवाच देवी ब्रह्माणं सदोमध्ये तु मौनिनम्

upahūtopahūtena āgateṣu dvijanmasu | kriyamāṇe tathā bhakṣye dṛṣṭvā devī krudhānvitā | uvāca devī brahmāṇaṃ sadomadhye tu mauninam

Als die Zweimalgeborenen auf Einladungen und Gegeneinladungen hin eingetroffen waren und als die Speise zubereitet wurde, geriet die Göttin beim Anblick dessen in Zorn. Inmitten der Versammlungshalle sprach sie zur schweigend dasitzenden Brahmā.
