कालहीनं न कर्तव्यं कृतं न फलदं भवेत् । वेदेष्वयमधीकारो दृष्टः सर्वो मनीषिभिः

Transliteration

kālahīnaṃ na kartavyaṃ kṛtaṃ na phaladaṃ bhavet | vedeṣvayamadhīkāro dṛṣṭaḥ sarvo manīṣibhiḥ

Translation

Ein Ritus darf nicht zur Unzeit vollzogen werden; wird er unzeitig getan, bringt er keine Frucht. Diese Regel von ritueller Befugnis und rechter Zeit ist in allen Veden zu finden, wie es alle Weisen erkannt haben.
