तस्य सांबः सुतो जज्ञे जांबवत्यां महाबलः । स तु पित्रा भृशं शप्तः कुष्ठरोगमवाप्तवान् । तेन संस्थापितः सूर्यो निजनाम्ना पुरं कृतम्
tasya sāṃbaḥ suto jajñe jāṃbavatyāṃ mahābalaḥ | sa tu pitrā bhṛśaṃ śaptaḥ kuṣṭharogamavāptavān | tena saṃsthāpitaḥ sūryo nijanāmnā puraṃ kṛtam
Von ihm wurde der kraftvolle Sāmba aus Jāmbavatī geboren. Doch von seinem Vater hart verflucht, fiel er in das Leiden des Aussatzes. Daraufhin setzte er Sūrya, den Sonnengott, ein, und es wurde eine Stadt gegründet, die seinen eigenen Namen trug.
