Narada (instructional voice within a technical/ritual section of Book 1.3)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shringara
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It illustrates the Purāṇic-Karma-kāṇḍa principle that specific homa materials (ghee and śāli rice) are linked to specific outcomes (phala), emphasizing ritual precision and the doctrine of cause-and-result in Vedic rites.
This particular verse is not framed as bhakti-teaching; it belongs to a technical ritual stream (Book 1.3) describing homa-based results. In the Narada Purana’s broader arc, such rites are typically secondary supports, while devotion to Vishnu is presented elsewhere as the higher, purifying path.
Practical ritual know-how: selecting the correct oblation substance (śāli) and correct anointing medium (ājya), and performing homa to obtain stated results—an applied, procedural aspect aligned with Vedic ritual science (yajña/homa prayoga).
