FAQs

It teaches that sincere observance of vrata generates puṇya that not only renews one’s capacity to live dharma again, but also becomes a means for transcending ordinary cosmic boundaries—symbolized by ‘piercing the Sun’s orb’—toward higher spiritual attainment.

Vrata in Purāṇic practice is typically performed as an offering to the Lord; the verse highlights that devoted, repeated observance (punar eva) refines the practitioner and elevates consciousness beyond worldly limits, which is a hallmark of disciplined bhakti-sādhana.

The verse implicitly uses Jyotiṣa-style cosmological language (ravi, maṇḍala) to describe spiritual ascent, showing how Purāṇic vrata-phala is framed with astronomical/cosmic imagery even when the focus remains on dharma and merit.
