Atharva Veda 18.2.48: Kanda 18, Anuvaka 1, Sukta 2, Mantra 48

Sukta 2

उ॒द॒न्वती॒ द्यौर॑व॒मा पी॒लुम॒तीति॑ मध्य॒मा। तृ॒तीया॑ ह प्र॒द्यौरिति॒ य॑स्यां पि॒तर॒ आस॑ते

udánvatī dyáur avamā́ pī́lumatī́ íti madhyamā́ | tṛtī́yā ha pradyáur íti yásyāṃ pitára āsate ||

‘Watery’ is the lowest heaven; ‘Pīlumatī,’ so they call the middle; the third, verily, is ‘Pradyauḥ’—that wherein the Fathers sit established.

„Wasserreich“ ist der niedrigste Himmel; „Pīlumātī“ — so nennen sie den mittleren. Der dritte aber, wahrlich, ist „Pradyauḥ“: der, in dem die Väter fest gegründet sitzen.
